Patient Right & Advocacy

Effective Date: August 13, 2026

At ClariMed Billing, we understand that medical and dental billing, insurance claims, and healthcare-related financial matters can sometimes be difficult to understand.

Our goal is to help patients and families navigate billing-related questions with clear communication, respect, and transparency.

ClariMed Billing provides billing and administrative support services. We are not a substitute for your healthcare provider, medical professional, insurance company, or legal advisor.

1. Your right to clear billing information

Patients have the right to receive clear and understandable information regarding billing matters to the extent that such information is available to ClariMed Billing.

If you have a question about a bill, claim, payment, or account information that we manage, you may contact our support team for assistance.

We will make reasonable efforts to explain billing information in a manner that is understandable and helpful.

2.Your right to ask questions

You have the right to ask questions about billing-related matters, including:

  • Billing statements
  • Insurance claims
  • Claim status
  • Payments and payment posting
  • Account balances
  • Insurance-related billing information
  • Claim denials or rejected claims
  • Billing corrections
  • Other billing-related concerns

We encourage patients and families to ask questions whenever they do not understand a billing matter.

3.Your right to review billing information

Where permitted and applicable, you may request information concerning billing records or account information associated with services handled by ClariMed Billing.

Certain information may be subject to verification requirements, privacy restrictions, contractual limitations, or applicable law.

We may require reasonable information to verify your identity before discussing or providing account-specific information.

4.Your right to privacy

We respect the privacy and confidentiality of information entrusted to us.

We take reasonable administrative, technical, and physical measures to protect personal information from unauthorized access, use, disclosure, or alteration.

Where applicable, information relating to healthcare services may be subject to additional privacy and security requirements, including HIPAA and applicable contractual obligations.

For more information, please review our Privacy Policy.

5.Your right to protect your personal information

Please do not provide sensitive medical, financial, insurance, or other confidential information through an unsecured communication channel unless we specifically instruct you to do so.

If you need to discuss sensitive information regarding a patient account, contact our team and ask about an appropriate method for securely providing the information.

6.Your right to question a bill

If you believe that billing information is incorrect, incomplete, or unclear, you have the right to raise your concern.

When contacting us about a billing concern, please provide as much relevant information as possible, such as:

  • Your name
  • Relevant account or statement information
  • Date of the bill or statement
  • Description of the concern
  • Supporting documentation, where appropriate

Our team will review the information available to us and respond as appropriate.

7.Your right to information about insurance claims

Patients may contact us regarding billing or claim information that ClariMed Billing is authorized to discuss.

Please understand that insurance coverage, eligibility, benefits, deductibles, copayments, coinsurance, claim determinations, and payment decisions are generally determined by the applicable insurance plan or payer.

ClariMed Billing cannot guarantee that an insurance company will approve or pay a particular claim.

8.Your right to respectful communication

We are committed to treating patients and families with professionalism, courtesy, and respect.

We encourage open communication and will make reasonable efforts to address billing concerns without discrimination, intimidation, or unnecessary barriers.

9.Advocacy and billing support

When appropriate and within the scope of our services, ClariMed Billing may assist with billing-related communication, claim follow-up, documentation, or clarification.

Our role may include helping identify billing issues or communicating relevant information regarding claims and accounts.

However, ClariMed Billing cannot make decisions that belong to healthcare providers, insurance companies, government agencies, or other authorized decision-makers.

10.Your right to dispute or correct information

If you believe that information associated with a billing matter is inaccurate, you may contact us and explain the issue.

We will review the information available to us and, when appropriate, work to correct errors or provide clarification.

Some information may need to be confirmed with the healthcare provider, insurance company, payer, or another responsible party before changes can be made.

11.Your right to choose your healthcare provider

ClariMed Billing does not determine which healthcare provider a patient must use.

Patients should discuss healthcare decisions, treatment options, and medical concerns directly with their healthcare provider.

Our services are focused on billing and administrative support rather than medical treatment.

12.Your right to access appropriate medical care

ClariMed Billing does not provide emergency medical services or medical treatment.

If you have an urgent medical concern, please contact your healthcare provider or appropriate emergency medical services.

For medical questions, diagnosis, treatment, or medication decisions, consult a qualified healthcare professional.

13.Insurance and payment responsibilities

Patients are encouraged to understand their insurance coverage and financial responsibilities.

Insurance policies differ, and coverage may depend on factors such as eligibility, plan benefits, deductibles, copayments, coinsurance, exclusions, authorization requirements, and other plan terms.

Information provided by ClariMed Billing should not be interpreted as a guarantee of insurance payment or coverage.

For definitive information about your insurance benefits, you should also contact your insurance provider.
